Pearl
The Gem of Purity & Wisdom
Unlike every other gemstone that is mined from the earth, pearls are born from the sea — created layer by layer inside a living mollusk. This organic origin gives pearls a unique warmth and luster that has captivated humanity since ancient times.

What is Pearl?
A pearl forms when an irritant enters a mollusk (oyster or mussel). The mollusk secretes nacre — a crystalline substance made of aragonite and conchiolin — layer upon layer around the irritant. Over months to years, these layers build up to create the beautiful, lustrous gem we know as pearl. The finest pearls display a phenomenon called "orient" — a subtle rainbow of colors across their surface.
Healing Properties & Meaning
Pearls have been associated with wisdom, especially wisdom gained through experience. They are believed to calm the mind, enhance sincerity, integrity, and loyalty. In many cultures, pearls symbolize purity and are traditionally given as tokens of love and affection.
How to Wear Pearl
Pearls are best worn as earrings, necklaces, or rings — close to the skin where their gentle energy can be absorbed. They are particularly effective for calming emotions during stressful times. Pearls require special care — keep them away from chemicals, perfumes, and store them separately from other jewelry.
